The project web based cryptographic messaging is a web application, which uses encryption and decryption algorithm namely AES(Advanced Encryption Standard) and DES(Data Encryption Standard) for forwarding of messages between different users , who will be registered in our web site. In this project will have two roles namely Admin and Users, Admin will registered the users and will assign them with their unique username and password , using which the users can login into the application and can use the features which are present in our application. Also admin can change the passwords of the users and if necessary can block the users by resetting or changing their passwords unexpectedly means without intimating to the users of the web based cryptographic messaging application .There by when users wants to logon, by entering their username and password , but it will results in vain as because the admin has resets their password in order to prevent that particular user from logon into our website. And when the admin wants to uses the website again than he just provides the users with the same new password which has been set by the admin or else admin will again reset the new password with the old password which has been in used by the user. In our application the main feature is to provide the messaging between the users of the website, but the feature here is the messages what ever users going to send will be in an encrypted format, hence the security over messaging will come into picture. Thus messaging in an encrypted format will provides the security, this security will be provided in our application with the help of the most commonly and most secure encrypted techniques namely AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and DES (Data Encryption Standard).
Another important feature of the website is that one-to-many messaging will be done. That’s means if n no of users has been registered by the admin, and if any user logon into our web site, he will enter into the home page after his credentials (username and password) verified to be true that is if his is authenticated user than he/she will enter into his own profile, where in he/she can send the message to one or many users. In the home page will have text box , in which user can enter the message ,after entering the message have to give the password in order to make use any one of the encrypted techniques while encrypting the message which need to send to the destination users, once the message successfully encrypted with using of the password, user can select the number of users to whom he/she wants to send the encrypted message ,thus the message will be send to the number of selected users .Thus one user can send to one or many users depending upon his need. Once after the message sended successfully, the other side or destination users after logon into their profile by entering their respective credentials can view the encrypted message which has been sended by the user. But the message will be in encrypted format, if the user wants to view the original message, than they have to enter the same password which is used for encryption that is same encryption password will be used for decryption, once after entering the password and requesting for the decryption, the message will be decrypted and hence the user can view the original message which has been sended by the source user. Also the user will use the same encrypted method for decryption, as the message sended by the user will also shows what techniques they the user had used for decryption. Thus the end-user just uses the same decrypted technique for decryption. In this way, the messages or the information can be preserved during the message transportation or transmission over the web. That means only the Authorised and the Authenticated users can access website or the application for the secure data transfer.
